Representatives of various central trade unions are meeting in New Delhi on Monday to discuss the effect of this year's Budget on workers and to plan their future course of action.

The meeting will focus on the Budget proposals and its impact on workers, especially in context of the demands, which the trade unions had placed before the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister and the Labour Minister during meetings held before the Budget.
The group had demanded an increase in EPF from the present 9.5 per cent to 12 per cent and social security benefits for unorganised workers.
All trade Unions, except the Congress-affiliated INTUC have flayed the Budget for ignoring the working class.
