Major crossings and roundabouts were clogged with vehicles and loaded trucks were also spotted on city roads, violating the time restrictions imposed for heavy vehicles.

While some residents are missing the regulated traffic and empty roads, others feel the city has come back to life.

“Gurgaon has come alive again. The roads were so empty and the city felt lifeless during the Games. It is so nice to see people back on the streets and the usual unruly traffic,” said Tamanna Singh, a commuter stuck on the Signature Tower crossing.

“The roads were a treat to travel on during the Games. The few people who used the roads followed the traffic rules diligently. But now it has gone back to normal,” said Rakesh Gupta, a commuter trying to maneuver his way out from the Sector-29 roundabout.
