The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday announced initiatives it has taken to answer consumer's queries on CAS (Conditional Access System) for viewing satellite channels, including doubts over the set top box, tariffs and quality of service.

The move by the telecom watchdog follows Delhi High Court's directive to implement CAS in the metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata by December 31.
TRAI has placed on its website www.trai.gov.in, a compilation of FAQs (frequently answered questions) on CAS, and other regulations of TRAI to educate subscribers and clarify doubts on set top box, smart card, tariff package, types of channels and timeline for quality of service.
