According to sources, TRAI has sought some additional information from concerned operators on the contentious issue of `roaming', which saw the cellular operators move the telecom tribunal against basic player earlier this month.

Terming the process of seeking additional information as "ongoing", TRAI sources said, further explanation from the operators was required for deliberating on the issue.

Sources said irrespective of the terminology that might be used for offering certain kind of services, TRAI was examining the developments and would soon come back with its views on the issue.

Recently, the cellular operators had approached Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate tribunal (TDSAT), alleging that certain limited mobility operators were flouting license conditions with regard to WLL-based limited mobile services by extending coverage beyond the local call area or by offering customers the facility to move across different cities.
