Train traffic goes haywire at Kanpur Central

KANPUR CENTRAL Railway Station witnessed a heavy rush due to derailment of a goods train at Shahjanpur and the subsequent diversion of trains. The trains were being run via Aligarh and Kanpur route. However, due to the sudden rush of the trains at Kanpur Central Railway station, the movement of all trains was affected collapsed. Several routine trains were also delayed by hours, which led to protest at the railway station by passengers.

The trains were being run via Aligarh and Kanpur route. However, due to the sudden rush of the trains at Kanpur Central Railway station, the movement of all trains was affected collapsed. Several routine trains were also delayed by hours, which led to protest at the railway station by passengers.

According to information, a goods train derailed at the Garra Bridge, Shahjahanpur, resulting in the diversion of trains moving towards Lucknow on the Aligarh-Kanpur route. Due to this, increase in traffic of trains at the Kanpur Central Railway station, the movement of routine trains from the station was also delayed.

All platforms being occupied, several trains were stopped at the outer signal for one to two hours. Even regular trains arriving at the Kanpur Central Railway Station were delayed by several hours, which included Jodhpur Howrah Exp, Lal Quila Exp, Toofan Express, Neelanchal Express and North East Exp among several other trains. Even the VIP Lucknow Mail was diverted from the Shahjahanpur route on the Aligarh-Kanpur route. However, till late in the evening Lucknow Mail had not arrived at the Kanpur Central Railway Station.

Even the Shatabdi Express departed from Kanpur Central Railway Station after 6 pm, against the scheduled time of 4.45 pm.
