The leftist unions will observe strike across the state to raise the voice against the "anti-people" policy of the UPA Government, said Soumitra Chakraborty, General secretary of the Motor Workers' Union on Monday.

He said the abrupt hike in fuel prices would hit the common people and the transporters would intensify their stir demanding rollback of prices.

However, the union leader made it clear that it would not demand for hike in passanger fares in the wake of the increased fuel prices.
