We are keen to travel to Jodhpur and Udaipur between April 1-4. We have a one-year-old baby. Will it be too hot to travel to these places in April? How child-friendly are they? Further, which will be the most convenient mode of transportation locally? Can you also suggest good accommodation in medium budget hotels in both places? Thanks.

April is summer in all parts of the country and Jodhpur and Udaipur will be pretty hot, too. The nights will be comparatively cooler. Although the hotels are tourist-friendly, it is always better to be self-reliant when it comes to your baby’s needs. Most of the hotels will have a tea/coffee maker in the room. Use that to boil water. There are many good 2- and 3-star hotels and resorts available. Hire an A/C taxi for sightseeing, since you are travelling with a child.

Udaipur and Jaipur are known for their captivating landscaped gardens and beautiful lakes. The evening dance and cultural programmes by the lake are crowd-pullers. Hathi Pol in Udaipur and the Bandhej shops in Jaipur are very popular shopping sites.
