LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! With 61 fashion and accessory designers and 48 models (16 male and 32 female including 14 new faces) and over 3,000 garments, this year's Lakme India Fashion Week scheduled to be held between April 20-26 at The Grand, New Delhi will be the biggest fashion event held in the country so far.

In addition to several runway showings (of which there are four 10 a.m shows on four days starting April 23 where 10 designers will unveil their collections in various combined presentations) there are several designers, including ones showing their lines on the runway, exhibiting at various stalls. Designer duo David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore of the label Abraham & Thakore is one of the labels showing only at the stall and the one to be on the lookout for.
As for the collections at fashion shows during LIFW, designers from all over the country will be showing their western prêt lines and a variety of diffusion (in between prêt and couture) like Indo-western, Indian and western. Most designers this time have concentrated just on women's wear though a sprinkle of menswear is also expected at designer shows during the Week. The Lone Ranger devoting his entire collection for men is Mumbai's Arjun Khanna.
As usual the Grand Finale theme show will be done by designers Varun Bahl and Monisha Jaisingh working on this year's theme 'Peppermint.' So, there's plenty to look forward to. And as always more labels will be seen off the ramp than on it with beautiful people coming from all over the country!
