A spokesman of the organisations said that a jungle satyagraha is also being organised to protest the ‘attack’ on the life of tribals through Satpura National Park, Bori Sanctuary, Pachmarhi Sanctuary, Tiger Project and other forest laws. Tribals from different forest regions will reach here on February 5 to sell their produce in the open market.

Thousands of tribals and other villagers will assemble at one place and announce their right to water, jungle and land. The spokesman said the rally will mark the commencement of a struggle for their rights. He said that atrocities on tribals have been rising steadily in several districts of Madhya Pradesh including Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda and Khandwa.

After being ousted from Tawa dam submergence area, Proof Range and Ordnance Factory in Hoshangabad district, preparations are on to displace population of at least 50 villages from Satpura National Park, Bori Sanctuary and Pachmarhi Sanctuary under the Project Tiger.

The tribals who earn their bread by selling forest produce are being prohibited from selling it. They are not being allowed to grow crops and graze cattle, alleged the three organisations.
