Indian troops on Sunday shot dead a most-wanted terrorist during a gun battle in Kashmir, police said.

Ghulam Qadir Mughal, a resident of PoK, was killed when troops raided a terrorist hideout early on Sunday.

In a statement, police said Mughal was a self-styled deputy chief of the Harkat-ul-Mujahedin terrorist group.
"Mughal was active in Kashmir for the past many years and figured in our most-wanted list," the statement said.
