Employees and people at large from Telangana considered the judgement to be against the interests of the region, TRS president T A Chandrasekhar Rao told reporters here today.

The SC judgement on 'free zone' means police can be recruited in Hyderabad from any other part of the state.

Taking exception to the remarks made by senior Praja Rajyam Party leader Ch Harirama Jogaiah that the order be extended to all departments and not just be made applicable to the police, he said the statement was like adding insult to injury to Telangana.

"I advised my partymen to observe restraint over the issue who considered it as a major setback. But Jogaiah's statement is an insult to us," he said.

TRS would adopt a two-pronged strategy over the issue. He said the party would fight the matter in the courts and would also launch a massive agitation to press the Congress governments at the centre and state to bring a constitutional amendment to protect the interests of the Telangana people, Rao said.
