It took the death of one factory worker and a month-long violent agitation to make the district administration take notice of the undercurrent tension in the industrial belt.
The administration has convened a meeting of management and striking workers of affected automobile companies on Tuesday.
It has also constituted a committee under the additional deputy commissioner to resolve the dispute amicably by initiating a dialogue.
A 26-year-old worker died on Sunday evening during a clash between striking workers and security guards at the gates of Rico Auto Industries Limited.
More than a dozen workers were injured in the clash.
The Gurgaon Police, meanwhile, booked unknown people in connection with the death.
Hundreds of workers of Rico Auto and another company — Sunbeam Casting — on the Gurgaon Expressway have been on strike for a month demanding reemployment of some sacked workers and a hike in their salaries.
Workers of Sunbeam Casting are not connected with Sunday's incident.
The decision to form a committee was taken at a meeting Labour Department officers had with Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Anurag Agarwal.

{{/usCountry}}Dr. Nisar Ahmad of Sunrise Hospital, Khandsa Road — where three injured workers, including the deceased, were rushed — said that Ajit Yadav was brought dead at 7.00 p.m.
“He died of a severe head injury inflicted by some blunt object. The other injured workers are out of danger.”
V.K. Kapahi, an advisor with Rico Auto, confirmed that Ajit Yadav was an employee of the company and was with the striking workers.
He said that the worker died during the stoning incident.
