According to the police, a speeding canter hit the autorickshaw from behind, pushed it for nearly 40 metres and rammed it into a parked truck near the Hero Honda Chowk.

Due to the impact of the collision, the auto was sandwiched between the two heavy vehicles.

The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old NSG commando Nagesh and auto driver Pushpendra (22).

“A native of Andhra Pradesh, Nagesh was posted in Manesar. Pushpendra was from Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place around 2.30am when the victims were on their way to Gurgaon from Manesar,” said a police official.

The canter driver was coming at a high speed and could not spot the auto. Dense fog further reduced visibility and the auto was dragged ahead to hit another stationary truck.

The accused canter driver is absconding after the incident and police have registered a case against him.
