Truly Tron inspired

Based on the film, Tron, this mouse is a good performer but heavy on the pocket. The mouse has a tiny speaker that gives out a short sound effect from the movie when your system powers on, or when you plug it into your computer.

-styled. The mouse has a tiny speaker that gives out a short sound effect from the movie when your system powers on, or when you plug it into your computer. It’s bright and flashy and there are lights planted all over — one at the rear, one on the wheel and one on the top of the mouse. There’s a laser at the bottom that actually leaves behind a trail on the mousepad — but this is only visible in the dark.

Logistics

It’s clear from the start that the

Tron

mouse isn’t at the same scale as performance mice from Razer, Logitech, etc. It’s lower and very easy to hold, but not really easy to grasp. This mouse is for those who prefer the claw-grip way of holding. The popular Logitech MX518 and Razer Imperator, DeathAdder and even the Lachesis are higher and thicker.

Most performance mice come with a very matte finish with an antibacterial treatment. The

Tron

mouse is a hard plastic mouse with a glossy finish all over it except for the buttons on either side. The two buttons on the right side let users switch the sensitivity of the sensor. On a typical gaming mouse, you’d find these buttons on the top of the mouse close to the scroll wheel.

Razer has made changes to the drivers as well. There’s a clear

Tron

theme going in them, although there’s no physical button to switch between mouse profiles. You’ll have to use the driver interface for that.

Performance

Looks aren’t everything; serious gamers need their ergonomics and, more importantly, they demand performance. Being a Razer product, though, this mouse doesn’t disappoint.

Razer has developed sensors over sensors for their various mouse offerings. The

Tron

gaming mouse uses a 5600 dpi 3.5G laser sensor. There’s no lag or skipping whatsoever and the mat works hand in hand with the mouse.

The feet enable the mouse to literally glide on the excellent mat which will really appeal to those who like high sensitivity gaming with occasional flicks. For those who prefer more control and precision, a cloth pad would be better. We also tried it on a couple of clothpads and the mouse performed well.

However, the rough, textured hard mat will eat up the feet over a period of time. All the buttons are responsive and have a sturdy feel to them. Also, there are no wobbly, sensitive buttons and the scroll wheel has a chunky, rubberised grip too.
