Much significance is being attached to the Governor’s move as it comes at a point when he has refused to administer oath of office to the two RLD nominees who do not happen to be members of either of the two Houses of the State Legislature. Governor though sat with other invitees for some time the Chief Minister later took him inside the Kalidas Marg residence. Does this signify change of stance on the part of Governor? No, say observers. The Governor has raised a moral issue and would probably stick to his stand, they add.

Significantly, this was for the first time that Rajeswar went to attend the Roza Iftar at CM’s residence. So far the Raj Bhawan has maintained a studied silence after refusing to schedule the swearing-in ceremony to induct the RLD nominees. The Chief Minister has attacked the Governor demanding that the swearing-in ceremony be organised soon to administer oath of office and secrecy. The CM had charged the Governor with violation of the Constitution for not administering the oath of office to the RLD nominees.
