The BMC removed encroachments from the land (Khasra Number-302), which the State Government had allotted to the BMC for the development of Categorised Market in 1974 and 1978. One Inayatullah along and some others today claimed the ownership of the land and told the BMC officials that a case was pending in the court in this connection. On inspection of the court stay, the BMC officials found that the case of land dispute pertained to the Khasra number-301.

The BMC had developed about 850 plots in this market in different phases. Of these, 17 plots are still lying vacant and the remaining ones were leased out. Encroachers were running scrap business from the open land,. Besides, some land-grabbers also encroached the BMC land.
