Lt Col SS Danu and Major RK Chauhan who were on a visit to a forward post, suffered injuries in their legs when they inadvertently stepped over a drifted mine on Friday, he said.

The mines, which are planted at one place, sometimes get drifted to another place due to rains making it difficult to locate them.

Both the officers were rushed to a hospital at Rajouri, he said adding Col Danu was later referred to the command hospital at Udhampur for specialised treatment.
