Police on Saturday nabbed the two accused who demanded a sum of Rs 50 lakh from the victim's father who is an advocate at the Ghaziabad court.

The victim, Arun Kumar, had gone to a model wine shop to fetch a bottle of beer when he came in contact with the two accused, Jai Shanker Singh and Puneet Chaudhary. The victim exchanged his mobile number with them. Next day, the two accused abducted Kumar after having some drinks together.

"The accused laced his drink with sleeping pills and drove his car towards Lal Kuan on NH-24. They strangled him with a cord of a mobile charger and dumped him inside an empty sewer at an isolated place, thinking him to be dead," superintendent of police SS Yadav said.

"Through electronic surveillance we tracked the two accused and also recovered the car and two mobile phones robbed by the accused,” the SP added.
