Two arrested with 1,100 detonators in UP

Two people were arrested Thursday for alleged possession of 1,100 detonators and a quintal of the widely used commercial explosive ammonium nitrate, the police said.

"Jitendra Kumar alias Babloo and Amresh Patel were arrested from the Ahrohra in Mirzapur district, about 300 km from Lucknow," police officer LR Bhasker told IANS.

"Jitendra and Amresh are being interrogated. We cannot rule out the possibility of their involvement with Naxalites (Maoists)," he added.
