Two boys killed in IED explosions in Srinagar

Two boys were killed and another injured in separate incidents on Friday in Kupwara and Rajouri districts.

Two boys were seriously injured when an IED, hidden by terrorists near a stream at Darpora in Lalpora area of Kupwara district, exploded close to them early on Friday morning, sources said.

While eight-year-old Bilal Ahmad was declared brought dead at Kupwara district hospital, 15-year-old Showkat Ahmad was referred to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar in a critical condition, they said.

In another incident, a boy, identified as Arif, picked up a tin glass fitted IED in Lati kotranka area in Rajouri on Thursday night, they said.

The IED exploded and the boy was killed on the spot.
