Orissa Congress suspended party leaders Swagatika Patnaik and Debi Prasad Chand for contesting against official party candidates.

The Congress today suspended party leaders Swagatika Patnaik and Debi Prasad Chand for contesting against official party candidates.

Patnaik, a former state students' union president, had filed her nomination papers as an independent candidate from the Begunia assembly constituency from where the PCC president and former chief minister J.B.Patnaik was seeking election, party sources said.

Chand had filed his papers from the Basta assembly seat as a rebel candidate.
