Two CRPF jawans injured in Dantewada Maoist attack

Maoists attacked two CRPF jawans with sharp-edged weapons at Kerlapal weekly market in Dantewada about 450 km south of Raipur today. HT reports.

Maoists attacked two CRPF jawans with sharp-edged weapons at Kerlapal weekly market in Dantewada about 450 km south of Raipur on Friday morning.

According to Dantewada police both the injured personnel were rushed to Sukma hospital in Dantewada where the condition of one is said to be critical.

The jawans who were in civil dress had gone to the market to purchase vegetables. Chaos ensued in the market after the attack and within minutes the area wore a deserted look.

The attack site is less than 150 metres from the CRPF base camp.
