A TWO-day training programme on ‘Chemical Accidents: Emergency, Planning, Response and Management’ for District Crisis Group members and safety officers of MAH began at the Disaster Management Institute (DMI) today.
DMI Executive Director SN Mishra inaugurated the programme in the presence of DIG (Intelligence) MR Asudani, Director (IDMU), DMI Rakesh Dubey and other officials of the institute.
According to a release, the main objective of the programme is to train District Crisis Group members on the recent developments in the field of emergency management and to give them a platform to interact with industry personnel from across the country on practical problems. Participants from different states like Punjab, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are taking part in the workshop.
In his inaugural address, SN Mishra highlighted issues of industrial safety and suggested to apply ‘Incident Command System’ as a management tool for industrial hazards. He also elucidated the expertise of DMI in the field of disaster management.
Later Dr Rakesh Dubey gave an overview of the programme and its importance in comparison to the recent developments in industrial accident management.
