Two engineering students allegedly tried to commit suicide by cutting their wrists in Pauri district, 250 km from Dehradun, police said on Wednesday.

According to the report lodged by the government-run G B Pant Engineering College administration, Harendra and Lalit Kumar, both final year students of Bachelors in Engineering (Electricals), cut their wrists in their respective rooms on Tuesday.

They were taken to the district hospital Pauri. Their condition is said to be stable.

Harendra is from Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, Lalit Kumar is a resident of Roorkee.

Police is questioning students to know the reason the two tried to end their lives.
