Two debt-ridden farmers committed suicide following crop failure in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, police said on Friday.

A farmer identified as Pralhad Ramchandra Kangale, 45, hung himself in Babulgaon on Thursday while Dinesh Janardan Waghmare, 28, of Sawargaon in Kalamb consumed poison, police added.

Kangale had taken a loan from a public sector bank and Waghmare had secured a loan under Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) of the state government, sources added.
