Two farmers have committed suicide in the North Maharashtra district of Nashik, the police said on Thursday.

Runja Soma Potinde, a resident of Nashik tehsil, hanged himself from a tree yesterday, while the other farmer, Sandeep Shivaji Agale (22) of Niphad town jumped into a well.

The reason behind the suicide by Potinde is unknown, while Agale took the extreme step due to financial difficulties faced by his family and him, the police said.
