Two farmers, including a woman, allegedly committed suicide in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra after their crops were damaged due to heavy rains, police said.

The woman farmer, Manda Dilip Deotale, hailing from Dhavalsari village in Amravati district, committed suicide by jumping in a well on Sunday after standing crops of soyabean and jowar in her eight acres of land were damaged due to rains and storm.

In Dhilli village of Washim district, another farmer Piraji Kisan Gaikwad (65) ended his live by consuming poison, police said adding he was under debt.
