Two flights from Germany land today

THE FIRST international flight Boeing 757 from Germany will land at Ahilyabai Holkar airport tomorrow at 9.10 am. Another flight, Boeing 737, will land at 9.50 am. Both the Boeings will carry German passengers.

THE FIRST international flight Boeing 757 from Germany will land at Ahilyabai Holkar airport tomorrow at 9.10 am. Another flight, Boeing 737, will land at 9.50 am. Both the Boeings will carry German passengers.

The Geneva-based airliner Messers Private Air SA owns both 60-seater Boeings having capacity for 20 crew members also. Venture Air Private Limited, another Switzerland-based company, is the liaisoning operator, which has sought permission to land at Indore from Director General Civil Aviation, Union Home Ministry, Ministry for External Affairs, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Indore district administration and police.

AAI, meanwhile, has made necessary arrangements for the purpose. State Bank of India has set up a special branch for foreign exchange. Besides, immigration and customs counters have also been set up at the departure lounge, which has been converted into arrival lounge. The immigration, customs and foreign exchange counters are temporary and will function on April 29 and May 1 when the flight will depart for Germany.

Airport Director James Natal informed that all arrangements are in place. Besides police and ambulance services, AAI has arranged for snacks and transport.

On landing, the Germans who are mostly senior delegates of German company Man, will leave for Pithampur to attend the inaugural function of Man Force Trucks Pvt Ltd on April 30. Force Motors Limited and Man have jointly set up a new truck production facility at the industrial area.
