Councillor Sachin Chaudhary (34) was found dead inside his car that was parked near Indrapuri area of Loni on July 21. He had been shot in the head.

Investigations revealed that Jaggu Pehalwan, a moneylender and a cable TV operator, planned the murder. Police arrested his accomplices Surinder Gurjar and Nitin Pandit today.

"Pehalwan had called Chaudhary using a mobile number issued on fake identity card. He told Chaudhary to wait at a nearby hotel. After some time Pehalwan and his accomplice Vinod Nagar sat in Chaudhary's car; we heard 4-5 gun shots after that," said Nitin Pandit, one of the arrested accused.

Ghaziabad SSP Rahgubir Lal said Pehalwan wanted to take revenge as the councillor had made the former's relative Surinder Gurjar pay R7 lakh to a man who was shot in his leg last year. Police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 and Rs 15,000 each to anyone who gets information about Pahalwan and his five other accomplices, respectively.
