Police said the accused Rahat Hafiz, resident of Trikuta Nagar, borrowed `18 lakh as an advance from the victim, who used to receive money from her son working in Dubai, on the pretext of finding her a new house.

However, when the accused failed to buy her a new house for a long time and Hazi started pressurising him, and he hatched a plan to murder her.

Police said that on December 11, Rahat took the victim in his car on the pretext of taking her for a medical check-up, and he and his accomplice gave her an overdose of sleeping pills, which may have led to her death. "The exact cause will be established after the autopsy," a police spokesperson added.

Police claimed that the accused confessed to their crime and the body was recovered based on the information given by them.
