The HuJI militants -- Abdul Gani, codenamed Khalifa, of Keshwan and Gulam Mohi-ud-din, codenamed Abu Bakar, of Chatroo -- surrendered before a joint team of Army and police, Superintendent of Police (Operation) Virender Sharma said.

They also handed over one pike gun, one self-loading rifle, two AK-47 rifles with six magazines and 300 rounds, two anti-personnel mines, nine detonators, one hand-grenade, one wireless set and one UBGL thrower.

This is a major setback to the outfit, 37 militants of which have surrendered in the past six months in Doda and other areas of Jammu region and 17, including three commanders, were killed during the same period, officials said.
