Two persons were killed and as many critically injured after they were accidentally hit by bullets during a firing practice by army personnel in Assam’s Baksa district today, police said.

Four persons had gone to collect firewood near the Sukanjali firing range in the district when they were hit by bullets used by the army personnel, killing two persons on the spot and injuring the others, sources said.

The dead have been identified as Thomas Murmu and Kamal Basumatary.
