Two minor sisters raped and murdered

Two sisters, both minors, were allegedly raped and murdered by unidentified persons in Kurnool district.

Two sisters, both minors, were allegedly raped and murdered by unidentified persons at Pampally village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The bodies of Yashoda (16) and Shamala (14) were found in a well on the outskirts of the village this morning, District Superintendent of Police B Malla Reddy said.

The victims were working as agricultural labourers and did not return last night after they had gone out to answer nature's call, Reddy said.

We have formed special teams to nab the culprits and no arrests have been made so far, he said.

The district collector announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh to their family.
