Those arrested by the Special Investigation Team probing the case were K M Shobin (24) and Shanavaz (28). They
were arrested from Coimbatore railway station last night, police said.

So far 22 persons have been arrested in the case.

The duo were brought to Muvattupuzha here this morning for questioning, they said.

The lecturer T J Joseph was attacked on July 4 while he was returning home with family from a Church. His severed
hand was sutured and is now recovering at his residence at Muvattupuzha.

He was sacked by the New Man college authorities last week on the ground that he had hurt the sentiments of Muslims.

Maintaining that Joseph had not made any derogatory reference to Prophet Mohammed, his family has said he would
challenge the management decision in a court.
