The Delhi Police on Friday filed two fresh chargesheets against eight suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists for allegedly carrying out the September 13 serial blasts in the Capital.
The chargesheets were filed in connection with the blasts at Central Park in Connaught Place and the recovery of a live bomb at India Gate. Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar, Mohd Shakeel, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh, Qayamuddin Kapadia and Mohd Hakim were named as the accused.
The police alleged that Saif and Rehman placed the bomb in a stainless steel dustbin at Central Park.
The police also filed a supplementary chargesheet against Mohammed Hakim, Mohammed Sadiq Sheikh and Qayamuddin Kapadia.
Qayamuddin has been accused of arranging raw material for the bombs. “He supervised the movement of bomb-making from Udipi
to New Delhi. Qayamuddin even visited Delhi days before the serial blasts,” said the police.
The police alleged Sheikh —founding member of the Indian Mujahideen — also visited the capital a week before the blasts.
They claimed to have gathered details on the movement of Hakim, Qayamuddin and Sheikh before the blasts, and even maintained details of their telephonic conversations with Atif Ameen, the alleged mastermind of the various blasts across the country.
The police invoked various sections of the IPC, including waging war against the country, in the chargesheets.

{{/usCountry}}The accused were also charged under various sections of the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The police identified 29 persons as accused in the chargesheets.
The chargesheets were filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaweri Baweja, which put them for consideration on March 4.
