Two persons commit suicide in separate incidents

Two persons have committed suicide in separate incidents in Gangtok.

Two persons, including a woman, committed suicide in separate incidents in Gangtok, police said on Friday.

A woman, identified as Nomit Lepcha, hung herself from a tree near Mamring village under Pakyong police circle area in east Sikkim on Thursday.

The 37-year-old woman, a mother of four children, took the extreme step apparently due to financial problems, they said.

In a related incident, a 35-year-old man, identified as B B Subba, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house at Timberbugh village under Soreng police circle area in west Sikkim on Wednesday night, the police said adding the motive behind the incident was being investigated.
