The DEO staff was annoyed with a news report highlighting late arrival of the staff at the office daily. When reporters Sanjay Bais and Sachin Yadav reached the DEO on Monday afternoon for a follow-up story, some employees opposed the video shooting and summoned DEO Rajeev Singh Tomar.

The two were allegedly taken to his chamber and were compelled to write the
‘declaration’. Bais alleged that the staff also snatched their camera and beat them up.

Countering the allegation, the DEO staff claimed that the newsmen misbehaved with them, including women staff, when they were asked to talk to higher authorities before shooting.

As news of the incident spread, several journalists gathered at the Madhav Nagar police station and demanded action against the guilty employees.
