Two trains collided near Tundla Railway Station about thirty kilometers from Agra. Three people have been killed and more than a dozen have been injured. Kalindi Express, coming from Delhi rammed into stationary Shram Shakti Express damaging its bogies.
The accident occurred at about 8.15 am due to thick fog cover. The signal, which was near the accident site was not visible. Exact reasons are not yet known but fog is believed to be the reason behind the accident. The bogey that was damaged was reserved for women and those killed include two women and a child. The driver of Kalindi Express and guard of Shram Shakti have also been injured.
Divisional Railway Manager, Devesh Mishra told HT, “Three people have been killed."
Disrict Magistrate, Ferozabad said, "Injured have been rushed to SN Hospital, Agra. Efforts are on to repair the track and restore normal traffic. Two bogies that have been affected are being removed to clear the track. Alternate arrangements are being made to carry those passengers who are to move ahead".
DM Ferozabad said that 14 people have been injured, including two who are serious. Those with minor injuries have been admitted to the Railway Hospital.

Earlier on January 2, ten people were killed and 45 injured in three train accidents in Uttar Pradesh amid dense fog and near zero visibility conditions.
North-Central Railway spokesperson R D Vajpai said medical van and relief van have been sent to the spot. All passengers in the affected coaches have been rescued, he said.
Officials said work is on to restore the railway track, which is expected to be completed by late afternoon. (With PTI inputs)
