Two hardcore ULFA insurgents, including self-styled 'corporal' Kalia Moran of its 'strike force 28th battalion C company' surrendered with arms on Tuesday in Assam's Tinsukia district.

The two laid down arms before the Second Bihar Regiment commanding officer Col S Munga, District Superintendent of Police PK Bhuyan and Subdivisional Magistrate Nurul Amin Laskar at a function in Gelapukhuri.

Kalia and the other ULFA cadre Monu Moran deposited 10 Chinese make mines, three improvised explosives, a country-made pistol, 10 metres fuse wires, five metres cordex, two detonators and 10 pencil batteries.
