“I am confident that Congress will win the seat (Northeast Delhi) with the biggest margin in Delhi, whatever the media says,” he said while taking a dig at the media and added that “Congress does not divide people on religious lines”.

“One person may commit a mistake sometime, a Jagdish Tytler may commit mistake. But the party never commits mistakes. My party is great,” he told a gathering of teachers in Yamuna Vihar in New Delhi on Thursday.

Asked whether the shoe-throwing incident was a conspiracy and is there any dark cloud looming over his candidature, Tytler, an accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case did not give a direct reply but said, the “matter is coming up before the court tomorrow”.
