UCO Bank plans to expand operations

THE UCO Bank has a substantial presence in Madhya Pradesh and is planning to expand its operations further in the State. The bank has 96 branches in the State including two regional offices at Bhopal and Indore, said Bank Chairman and Managing Director V Sridar.

THE UCO Bank has a substantial presence in Madhya Pradesh and is planning to expand its operations further in the State. The bank has 96 branches in the State including two regional offices at Bhopal and Indore, said Bank Chairman and Managing Director V Sridar.

During an interaction with journalists in Bhopal on Friday, Sridar said the bank planned to open more branches and ATMs in the State. The bank has recorded a year-to-year growth of 31 per cent in total business and achieved a level of Rs 88,304 crore on December 31, 2005. The bank aims at achieving the target of Rs 1 lakh crore by the end of the current financial year.

Sridar also called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the latter's residence . He apprised the chief minister of the Uco Bank's activities and assured full cooperation in the State Government's job-oriented schemes. The bank is opening a new branch in the Lalghati area.

Also present on the occasion were Uco Bank assistant general manager A N Mohanty and Chief Minister's secretaries Iqbal Singh Bains and Anurag Jain.
