There are sufficient numbers of hospitals in the constituency but the numbers of doctors do not match with the requirements of the population size. Residents of the tribal areas feel neglected by the local MLA who though claims of having done his bit.

What I did:

• Spent Rs 207 crore on development works in the constituency during 5 years
• Got an agricultural university established
• Got a satellite hospital established at Hira Magari
• Got an over-bridge constructed connecting the city with Hira Magari

Lost by 20,331 votes in 1998

• Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got five hostels constructed for the tribal children during its rule, but Congress failed to establish even one.

• The Scheduled Tribe Training Centre opened up during the BJP regime was closed.
