UGC team lauds IIIT-A efforts

THE THREE-DAY University Grants Commission (UGC) inspection of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) concluded on Thursday with words of praise and encouragement from the UGC team leader Prof S Xavier Alponse.

THE THREE-DAY University Grants Commission (UGC) inspection of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) concluded on Thursday with words of praise and encouragement from the UGC team leader Prof S Xavier Alponse.

Addressing the students, faculty members, officers and employees of the Deemed University before the team's departure, Prof S Xavier Alponse said that based on his prior visits to the different institutions of the country, he can confidently say that the Institute has come a long way in the mere seven years of its inception.

He said that the ambience, facilities and infrastructure speaks volumes of the effort being made by the IIIT-A fraternity under IIIT-A Director Dr MD Tiwari.

Prof Alponse said that he could assure the institute on behalf of the UGC the institute would be extended all technical and financial support that may be needed to help IIIT-A reach greater heights. He said that the Institute should encourage researches on the cutting edge of technology immediately and in a still bigger way.

It is worth mentioning that the UGC had arrived at IIIT-A on Wednesday after completing the inspection of the Institute's Amethi Campus to review the progress achieved by the Institute during the past five years.
