An ULFA militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam’s Udalguri district this evening, official sources said.

A joint operation was launched in Dolangaghat area under Kalaigaon police station in which an ULFA militant was killed.

A pistol with two magazines, a hand grenade and some documents were recovered from the slain militant.

Meanwhile, police arrested two persons in connection with April 6 bomb blast at Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district in which five persons were injured.

The duo have been identified as Laxmi Nath and Pulin Bora and they have remanded to three days’ police custody.
