Ulfa, other outfits trying to create problem: Gogoi

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi today said that anti-talks faction of Ulfa and some other outfits have been trying to create law and order problem in the state.

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday said that anti-talks faction of Ulfa and some other outfits have been trying to create law and order problem in the state.

After Ulfa carried out blast in Goalpara district on Tuesday in which one Army jawan was killed and six others injured, intelligence agencies have alerted Assam govt.

"Ulfa and some other outfits have been trying to create law and order problem. They are waiting for opportunity," said Gogoi.

On Wednesday, GOC of Four Crop, Lt Gen Shakti Gurung met Gogoi and discussed about the present situation in three violent affected districts in lower Assam where Army have been deployed to control the situation.

In connection with the Goalpara blast, police detained four persons including a girl from Kharmuja village under Krishnai police station in the district.

"Four persons have been picked up in connection with the blast. We are examining their involvement in the blast," said Shyamal Saikia, SP of Goalpara district.

All the three Ulfa cadres had left pro talk camps few days ago and joined the anti talk faction of the outfit.
