Her meeting with Tandon and Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy lasted 30 minutes, during which she discussed the name and the election symbol of her party, scheduled to be announced on April 30 at Varanasi.

Bharti has announced that she would field a nominee against Congress president Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency and has sought the support and cooperation from BJP, the ruling Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party of Mayawati.

Talking to newspersons after the meeting, Bharti did not agree with the perception that one more political party believing in nationalist ideology would weaken the forces.
