Making the announcement in the Assembly, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani informed the House that change in Bharti's status followed receipt of a letter from BJP Legislature Party secretary.

The communication was also accompanied by a letter from BJP leader MA Naqvi giving information about the expulsion of Bharti, Rohani said.

Before the commencement of its Winter Session on December 23, the Assembly had received a letter from BJP Legislature Party secretary, GS Kaushal, seeking change in Bharti's seating arrangements, they said.

Bharti, the former state chief minister, who was elected to the State Assembly from Bada Malehra constituency in Tikamgarh district, was expelled from BJP for indiscipline and anti-party activity on December 5.
