THE ‘GHOST of Uma Bharti seems not to have spared the new Bharatiya Janata Party State president Satyanarayan Jatia too. Jatia has postponed his maiden visit to hometown Ujjain in view of Bharti’s ‘Janadesh Yatra’ scheduled to enter Ujjain on February 26 and now would have to wait for few more days to enjoy rousing welcome from his home supporters after getting the coveted post.
Jatia was earlier scheduled to come to Ujjain on February 24 but the leadership that is keeping a close watch on Uma’s yatra has thought it prudent to schedule Jatia’s Ujjain visit after Uma visits the city in a bid to nullify the atmosphere created from her visit. Uma Bharti would address a public meeting at Tower square in the evening.
Leaders feel that party workers are in jubilant mood over Jatia’s appointment and would accord historic welcome to him on his first arrival. The occasion could be used to douse Uma’s wave in the region.
Although, Jatia’s new schedule is not yet finalized but it is most likely that he would come after attending Budget presentation in Parliament on February 28.
Jatia’s name was announced on February 16 and he had assumed office in Bhopal two days back but is yet to visit his hometown.
