When asked whether she would regret coming out of BJP any day, Bharti said "I regret going back to BJP after the way I was insulted in front of the nation's media," referring to her expulsion from the party in 2004 and her subsequent re-entry.

"This one year I have suffered a lot by going back to the party," she added.

"If I would not have gone back then and instead formed a new platform, I would have prevented many people from BJP from crossing over to BSP," the sanyasin said.

On BJP's decision to field Kalyan Singh as chief ministerial candidate for the Uttar Pradesh elections next year Bharti said, "I question the credibility of this announcement. It was because of Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh's Government was removed. So this new announcement is a joke."

"I appeal to the people of Uttar Pradesh to vote for one party and one leader to avoid a formation of coalition government," she said.
