Unfazed by the criticism of his visit to Netherlands, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said a high level delegation comprising representatives of perfume industry from Kannauj (Lok Sabha seat of his wife Dimple Yadav) will soon be exploring markets abroad. The chief minister had returned from his visit on Saturday.
A delegation from Netherlands is also expected to visit the state in November 2014. The state plans to resume dialogue with Japan soon.
“Uttar Pradesh has taken a lead in attracting investments from major companies and countries and now nothing can stop the state from marching ahead — not even its negative projections on the law and order front and poor power scenario ” said the CM while speaking to HT.
Yadav said all state governments would have to play a proactive role to attract investment, “If any investment has to come it will come to states.”
“Today when there is so much hype on building Digital India, perhaps many are unaware that UP initiated this move two years back. However somehow we have failed to market it — more than 16,000 common service centers were functioning in rural areas providing online services. About two crore digitally signed certificates have been distributed and there have been nearly 26 lakh transactions with highest recorded in a backward district like Ghazipur,” he said.
Yadav said, “An agreement signed between the UP government and the Netherlands Agro Food and Technology Centre (NAFTC) would help in making the state’s agriculture markets technologically advanced and benefit the cooperative institutions, environment and the farmers.”

{{/usCountry}}He said the state government proposed to set up at least four new Mandis on the proposed Lucknow-Agra Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway to come up under the “Engineering, Procurement and Construction” model.
“A potato research centre along with an agriculture institute would be set up in Lucknow under the exchange of know-how programme. The state government proposes to develop three centers of excellence in different regions,” he added.
